We are a retired couple with four children and nine grandchilren. Our interests include swimming, walking and travel. We live in the Southwestern part of the UK, in a lovely rural area of South Somersetshire, (www.touristnetuk.com)that is predominantly an agriculture area of woodlands ,hills,and small villages, hamlets, and a few market towns, such as CREWKERNE, ILMINSTER, SOUTH PETHERTON,AND CHARD.

To the West of the area the Blackdown Hills rise against the horizon and border the County from Devonshire. While to the North the landscape slowly sinks to the " SOMERSET LEVELS" ,a flat wet moorland, that is only a few feet above sea level, and covers quite a large area of the County. To the South,we are abutted by the undulating countryside of Dorsetshire,another rural County. Since childhood, we have lived in this area almost continuous ,other than twelve years in East Sussex, when we first married.

My ancestors have resided in this part of the country for numerous years,especially my mothers maternal ancestors EASON.They have lived in theMERRIOTT & CREWKERNE area,for at least three hundred years.One such ancestor took part in the PITCHFORK REBELLION in 1685 AD,and subsequently changed his surname when they were defeated atTHE BATTLE OF SEDGEMOOR,for fear of reprisals. My mothers paternal ancestorsBARRETTare also from nearby town of CREWKERNE,and have lived in the area for several hundred years. My fathers forefathersWINDSOR originated from the High Ham, Low Ham, area near Langport, Somerset.My wife's family the GREENWAY`S are from India,but originated from the West Country, several generations ago.
