    Granny`s old recipe for Christmas pudding


    This recipe will do 2+1.5lb puddings

  • 1.5lb Mixed fruit
  • 3 ozs cherries
  • .5 oz mixed spice
  • 6 ozs breadcrumbs(fine)
  • 3large eggs
  • 3 ozs flour
  • 6 ozs brown sugar
  • 6 oz Suet
  • Grated rind from 1.5 lemons
  • 3 tablespoons black treacle
  • 1 tablespoon Brandy or Rum
  • 1 oz of chopped mixed nuts
  • 1 oz of ground almonds
  • 1 oz of dates
  • 1 oz of Dry apricots
  • 1 grated apple
  • 1 grated carrot

    • Mix fruit,cherries,chopped mixed nuts,dates,apricot,and brandy,and marinate overnight.

    Next day mix in the other ingredients & stir.Place in greased pudding basin,layer with greaseproof paper on top.Cover with cloth or tin foil,and place in slow cooker,on high setting for 13 hrs approx.To reheat in slow cooker allow 5hrs approx
