Amos was the youngest son of John &Jane Barrett.He was born in 1830 at Crewkerne Somerset England.Sometime between 1841 &1851 the family moved to Guernsey in the Channel Islands. He married in 1850 to Harriet Sophie Samuels B.1835.D.1864(Truro,S Australia). They emigrated to Australia (as a farm labourer)with their first daughter Harriet Susanah then,one years of age,aboard the "Royal Charlie"Febuary the 2nd 1854,arriving in Port Adelaide on May 24th.His sister Christina and his cousin Henry J Barrett were also aboard. Later in 1857 his brother Andrew also emigrated to S Australia.
Amos died in Angaston S Austalia on the 12/12/1918,and had married three times,below is his family from his first wife Harriet.
